Charlie’s Valentine!

It is a tradition to get a little something something on Valentine’s day for my Charlie!

  As I was growing up my mom always did something similar; this is where the tradition originated!

This year I found the cutest stuffed animals and balloon!

All about the frogs!  I had to take a quick picture before Charlie found it. 

  I was at Walgreens and found the frogs; had to get the Mommy and baby frog!  Everything together was $6 that is what I call an affordable Valentine.

With both Grandma and I getting Charlie stuffed animals he is getting quite the collection!

I decorate his room during the month of February and then I put them back in storage for the next year! 

Valentine’s!

The Valentine assembly line!  We love putting together little gift bags for Charlie’s preschool class. 

This will probably be the last year we can do this because next year he will be in Kindergarten and the numbers will be more than double.

12 gift bags are not a big deal…26 yes!  We will see though.  I am the over the top Mom! 

Here they are all done up and ready to give to his class!

These are the adorable Valentine decorations he made at school.  A mailbox and a Valentine card for his Mom and Dad!

I love this handmade Valentine one of his girl class mates made him!  He had a few of these sweet little notes!

Fun little project!

Winter days seem to last forever and so one must have little projects to work on!

Here is my latest project!

  I found this mirror on clearance for $17, originally $90.

It had a few cosmetic issues (chips in the paint) and this is the reason for the great price.

I bought this mirror almost two years ago, so I finally pulled it out of the basement and went to work!

Not that the gold was not beautiful; I just felt it needed to be painted a fun fresh color!

Charlie helping me put the white primer on.  It took about 4 coats to cover the gilded gold!

This is the color I picked out! A nice soft pink!

Here it is all pink and pretty!

Four coats of primer, three coats of pink and two coats of sealant later…… ta da!

Thank you Steven for helping me hang this super heavy mirror!  It was quite the process; because there were no studs in the place where the mirror was going he had to drill into the sheetrock and put anchors that support 50 pounds!

I love it and think it looks splendid in our bedroom!

Girl’s night out!

I have made it a goal this year to  have girl’s nights out and invite friends to dinner. 

So I invited a bunch of friends to have a girls night out!

We went to dinner  and then most of the girls had to get home to put little one’s to bed!

Next we decided to go treasure hunting at DI; yes you read correctly DI!  This is one of my favorite places to find treasures. 

All of us left with neat stuff!  Amongst some of the incredible finds: 

Moe went home with a gorgeous practically brand new Nine West purse. Tianna completed her collection of  The Work and The Glory series! (Thank you so much Tianna for letting me barrow the fifth volume; you’re the best)   I found a beautiful channel blanket and a 1950’s table service set! (It was in perfect condition and I think it was someone’s wedding gift that was never used)

After DI the only one’s that were still not ready to call it an evening was Moe and I!

We went and saw….

It was hilarious!  Great movie; a must see!

So I plan to continue putting forth the effort to arrange social events! 

This girl’s night out was so fun and very much needed!

Puppy Dog Eyes!

This is Maxwell looking so forlorn!  Every time we go out to get the mail or just leave in general this is what he does!

  Wait, you for got me!

The song “How Much is that Doggy in the Window” comes to mind!

A very in tuned hubby!

This actually is the color of the roses below.  The above pictures were taken in the evening after I received and arranged them.

This was taken during the day!  Crazy how lighting can affect the true color of something when you take a picture!

My sweetheart is the best at surprising me with roses!  I love this about him amongst the many other incredible things he does!

The interesting thing that happened on this occasion is as follows:  I woke up that day thinking to myself oh how wonderful it would be if Robert surprised me with pink roses….wishful thinking!  I brushed it aside and went back to the tasks at hand.

That evening when he came home to my complete surprise he had a dozen of the most gorgeous pink roses!  It is official we are so close that we can read one another's thoughts!  lol

He said all day long I had the strong impression I should bring you flowers.  When I got to the store there were beautiful red and yellow roses but I kept being drawn back to the pink roses!

I find this to be such an amazing story!  Devine intervention, listening to instincts, loving family members on the other side intervening, a complete Synchronicity….  However one may wish to explain and conclude this unique happening!

I just know that my sweetheart is in tuned and listens to promptings!

I am so in love with my darling sweetheart; each day I keep falling even more in love!   Robert you are my world and I adore you!

Primary Bulletin Board!

This was the project I was assigned to do for Primary!  I think it turned out fabulous!

It is very precise because Steven mapped it all out for me on Auto Cad; that way everything was to scale and perfectly measured!

I went to the Utah Idaho school supply store for the boarder and black letters!

The pictures I found on line and then made colored copies!

As a Primary the children have been given the challenge to read the entire Book of Mormon; if they do a member of the Stake Presidency will present each child that does this with a certificate!

Every thing is mapped out on this bulletin board; meaning each square has the amount of chapters one must read each week in order to finish the Book of Mormon in a year!  This was determined by the length of the chapters and dividing it amongst the 52 weeks in the year! This took time dividing things equally and realistically!

As a Presidency we have given the children scripture book marks that they mark their progress on as they read.  On Sunday they bring their book marks and the teachers record what they have read on a special form. 

  We then get a overall percentage of the amount of children read and that is what determines how many spaces the Lihona is moved on the board! (Lihona is not on the board in these pictures.)  

So if 50% of the Primary read the Lihona is moved 1 space if more so forth!

The bulletin board is a collaboration of all the children working towards this goal! 

  Of coarse the finish point is  getting to the Tree of Life! 

I free handed the tree using an exacto- knife! Each leaf I cut out by hand.  The fruit were Christmas ornaments; I thought they were perfect.

When the primary completes a book in the scriptures I will then have a book that fills each space as we go!  This chart was also to help the children memorize the order of the books in the Book of Mormon! 

The children are doing a fantastic job!  I also made a special announcement in Relief Society so the mothers are aware of what the goal for the Primary is this year!
