There was so much delicious food at the party! We all did a lot of cooking. There was so much mouth watering prime rib that my Uncle Frank brought from his restaurant. Grandma and Shirley baked three turkeys and three hams plus made a bunch of different salads. Mom, Steven and I made 30 lbs. of fluffy potato casserole and a huge ancene de pepe (?sp) salad. There was so much it was ridiculous. There was a crowd of 200 people to feed. Even with that, there were so many left overs!

We all got to go to Oregon for a week long vacation. My Aunt Shirley had a huge birthday party for her Dad. It was a wonderful celebration and it was so fun to see all my family.

Twilight

Ok I want to know if anyone went and saw "the movie", Twilight?

What did you think of it? What was your favorite part? What vampire did you find most attractive?

I went this afternoon and found it to be entertaining. The begging was somewhat slow, but that was to be expected. All the action tends to take place in the last quarter of the book. As always there were things that did not correlate with the book or parts that were skipped. Everyone has their own opinion or what they imagine things should be like.

Overall it was a good movie and yes I do hope they make all remaining three!

Family in the Fall!

Last Saturday we had family pictures taken. I think they turned out beautiful. Thanks to our very talented photographer, Kaela Cusack! I love how she captured Charlie and his personality. He was a bit of a handful, to put it nicely. She was so patient and wonderful. So if you need a great Photographer and that is good with kids; I highly recommend her!

Ok so my friend and “aka” Robert’s cousin Tricia tagged me! I'm supposed to say 7 things about myself that are strange, weird, unusual, or generally unknown. Humm I never know what to write…here goes my attempt!

1. When I was growing up I wanted to be an archeologist. I was always outside trying to discover and uncover something amazing. My greatest accomplishment/finds were a liberty dime from the eighteen hundreds, and a perfect arrowhead! My Mom at the time was taking an anthropology class at school and I loved reading the books assigned for that course.

2. I am a perfectionist. I love things neat and orderly. At one time I would go nuts if someone walked on the carpet right after I vacuumed. I liked seeing the perfect nice straight lines the vacuum made. Yes I have sense learned to not be a complete OCD nut. Lol, people would say otherwise. I still love the look of a freshly vacuumed room! Dirty floors in my home, are probably my biggest pet peeve.

3. I met my sweet husband on the inter-net at LDS Mingles.com. Yes there can be happily ever afters for those that find their true loves on the inter-net!

4. I love the Anne of Green Gables books and movies. When I was a teenager I had a huge crush on Gilbert… (still do) One of my dreams is to someday travel to Canada and visit Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. So if there is anyone out there that wants to go on an Anne of Green Gables pilgrimage, I am game!!!

5. I love to have my back rubbed or what I call tickled. Not quite being scratched just a lighter version! I love love love this. I have trained Robert to do this while we watch a movie or before going to sleep. He is such a sweetheart to comply, I adore him!

6. I am scuba dive certified!

7. My entire life my family has nicked named be Lissy Bug or Sissy Bug. They still call me this; I don’t mind, it is just a term of endearment. I have sense carried on the nick name and call Charlie…Charlie bug!

Happy Birthday dear Steven! November 10th is Steven's birthday, he is 26 years old.

I adore my brother. Growing up he and I were best buds. I can not tell you how many hours we spent playing with Lego's or building forts. Living on the ranch was the perfect setting for two imaginative kids.

Steven is one of the most intelligent people I know. Give that kid anything and he will figure it out and excel. He is very meticulous and pays attention to detail. We both have that type A personality. I love spending time with with my brother and I hate it when he is not around. So Steven no more leaving for Oregon! lol

Steven is very thoughtful, helpful, kind, and compassionate. I envy the lady he marries. He is going to be a fabulous husband. How can a guy raised by women not make for the most thoughtful and loving husband ever. Sorry Steven if I have embarrassed you! That is my job as your sister! I love you so much Steven! I hope you have a wonderful and special birthday!

Girls Night Out

Make some time to have fun!

All right all you ladies out there, I am doing a shout out to promote having some fun!
If you are like me you get so busy with taking care of your family and all the responsibilities of keeping a home in order you might not get out much. Last night I had so much fun. A couple of girlfriends and I went out on the town and had a blast. We went to a fun restaurant in old town Provo called La Dolce Vida. It is this wonderful little Mom and Pop Italian restaurant ran by the cutest little couple from Italy. The food was fantastic and it had a great authentic Italian atmosphere! Mostly it was just fun to have some girl talk time. I love my sweet Robert and Charlie, but it was refreshing to have a girls night out. I am staring an initiative to make time to have some fun. I want to get together every month with friends and keep this new tradition going . If you are interested in joining the "girls night out get together group", let me know.
So girls if you have not had a night out on the town with some friends in a while I strongly suggest getting out of the house and having some fun. We all need some time to mix things up a bit and have a fun conversation. Not to mention some great Italian food that we did not have to cook! :) ;)

Mom's Birthday Party

Mom's gifts. The flowers came from my back yard; I was so excited to be able to decorate with some beautiful flower arrangements!

Steven came back for Oregon. So we finally celebrated Mom's birthday. We wanted to wait until Steven got home so we could all be together.
It was an enjoyable evening. We went to Good Wood and had the best dinner. The boys order BBQ ribs and Mom and I got our favorite double dipped chicken crispers. We love that place. Well I told the waitress it was Mom's birthday so she brought out this huge chocolate brownie Sunday. It was delicious. However at home there was a homemade carrot cake with my famous cream cheese frosting. When we got home no one had room for dessert!

Mom opened her birthday presents. Robert and I got her a serving for twelve silverware set. Steven got Mom a nice big bottle of Coco Mademoiselle Chanel perfume.
The next day we had the carrot cake and it was oh so yummy!!!

Halloween 2008 Slide Show

We had quite the Halloween celebration. I am excited however to be getting back to our normal routine! You can only handle a life size Frankenstein in your living room for so long.
The first video clip is of Omniture. This is where Robert works. I think he works for the coolest company. They have this big Halloween party every year. All the departments decorate and everyone wears costumes. There is a big contest for both costumes and decorations. If you win first prize for your costume you get $1000. If your department wins for decorations you get $5000. So yes there is a little healthy competition involved!
At three everyone has their families come and we get to go trough two big buildings that have been decorated to the hilt. The employees hand out candy to the kids and there are lots of treats and fun.
The next part to the video clip is Charlie going trick or treating. He had such a great time doing this. He had it down...knock knock, trick or treat...wow...thank you very much! Ok next house! From Omniture and trick or treating he made a haul!
On Saturday we had a kids Halloween party. The kids came in costume and we had lots of games and prizes. The kids played ring toss on a witch hat, pin the face on the pumpkin, face painting, they made candy necklaces, played musical tombstones, and mom did her traditional Witch Hazel. We then went to the patio and had bones and cheese, mummy dogs, and cupcakes. We had a good time and I sent the kids home with more of a sugar high.
