First Kiss

Yesterday Charlie received his first kiss! My mom was here and she was outside with Charlie. Hailey, Charlie's best friend came over to visit. Well my mom said they were just sitting there talking and Hailey leaned over and gave Charlie a kiss on the cheek. So sudden, Charlie turned beat red! I wish so badly I was there to see this precious event.
Charlie and Hailey from the moment they met have been close friends. All Charlie talks about is Hailey and Hailey's Mom says all Hailey talks about is Charlie. They always want to play together. It is a good thing she lives just a few houses away.
When Robert got home from work Charlie shared what happened with his Daddy. He said "Hailey gave me a woo woo kiss on the check!" Oh Charlie, such a little Casanova!

This was so cute. Charlie turned so red. Hailey said I think I would like to give him a lip kiss. Charley leaned over and gave her a kiss and said woo woo. I wish I had a camera. But I stand as a witness. When he told his dad he was so serious, like a news commentator. When his dad laughed Charlie put his hand up in a hold off stance and said, " No no me talk, Hailey kissed me on cheek, said lips but kissed my cheek, it was a woo woo kiss", It reminded me of a sport star being interviewed after a game. Charlie is keeping us going lately. His mom had called me and she was getting him out of the tub. Alisa unplugged the tub and he stepped on it and plugged it. He just laughed and said, "I such a stinker bug". I love you my little family. Love, Grammy Knowles

Jessie always made the most delicious home made pies! Not just one, there was an assortment. You were in for a treat when Jessica baked/cooked. She was an excellent chef.
Sisters Forever

It has been one month today, since my sweet sister passed away. It seems as though it happened yesterday and at the same time it feels like forever since she was here. It has been a difficult day. I just hope with each passing day the sting of her passing will subside. I miss her greatly and would give anything to be able to sit down and visit with her. So a request on my behalf; to all those out their that have not given your sister/brother a hug or a call today, please do so!!!! Life is too short and we need to make every moment count.

Fourth of July Activities

Hot Air Balloons

We started the day at 5 a.m. I know you are probably thinking that we are crazy. Crazy always! :) We had to get up that early, to go to the National Hot Air Balloon Competition that was held in down town Provo. It started at six in the morning and we needed to get there in time to park and walk to were the event was being held. It was an amazing event. There were 25 huge hot air balloons and we got to be right amongst them. We watched as they filled them with air and then proceeded to launch. The balloons launched as the sun peaked over the mountains. Beautiful site!

We packed a picnic breakfast and watched the balloon games. They had to pop helium balloons that were tethered to the ground and try to throw a bean bag from 200 ft in the air and hit the target on the field below. If this makes no sense there will be a slid show that coincides with this blog entry.

Robert and I then went to a movie. We watched Wall-E. My sweet Mother volunteered to take care of Charlie so we could go enjoy the movie. It was a cute show. I know we will be buying this one for sure.

We all went and bought fireworks and were planning to stay home and barbecue and do our own little 4th of July show but we had a last minute change. We ended up going to Electric Field at Thanksgiving Point and watched an amazing firework show.

All and all it was an enjoyable day. I look forward though to this evening because I am a fan of the fireworks you do at home. The celebrating continues!

Patriotic

Charlie is obsessed with flags right now. This is the new thing he watches blow in the wind. So it was only fitting to take a picture amongst beautiful American Flags. So patriotic!

Today my Mom, Charlie and I went to the East Lawn Cemetery and decorated Jessica's grave site for the Fourth of July.

We miss her greatly, she was always the one that made holidays so exciting. Her special 4th of July Breakfasts, that was a tradition she started! I am sure she is in heaven celebrating the 4th.

Red White and Blue Splendor

Red and white hollyhocks for the 4th of July! Not planned just a pleasant surprise. These are hollyhocks that are volunteers, they grow where ever they want. I do not have the heart to move them. They are from seeds that we gathered from the Hollyhocks at my Great Grandmother Hunt's in Oregon. Practically pioneers; these lovely flowers!

Robert and I decorated the front porch for the Fourth of July. It was somewhat of a hilarious ordeal. We asked the neighbors if we could borrow their ladder so we could get up on our roof. I did not realize how afraid of heights I am. I was on the roof with my heart pounding and my hands shaking, as I was trying to use the staple gun. There is a silver lining to this event. The view was breathtaking. The sun was setting and the sky was painted the most delicious color of peach and pink. Will I get up the roof every night to watch the sun set, hum NO!

We survived! I just am wondering how I am going to talk myself into getting back up their to take down the decorations! I gained a tremendous amount of respect for those that do construction work and are in such precarious situations all the time! Hats off!

Next holiday to decorate...Christmas! Christmas lights who needs them anyway! :) No I am sure I will talk myself into that endeavor as well.

Every kid needs ice cream, especially when it is so hot outside! Here is Charlie devouring a drumstick. Actually he was more into making an ice cream goatee and looking at his reflection in the mirror across the way and laughing. Enjoy!!!

If you can not tell by the blog change I love celebrating the 4th of July. I get very emotional during our Nation's Declaration of Independence. There is so much to be thankful for! I am extremely blessed to live and be a citizen of the United States of America! I am grateful for the freedoms and right we enjoy!
